So this is what it's come to. Progressive education for the rich and paternalistic education for the poor. The rich kids explore, create, question, and dream with experienced professional teachers in beautiful facilities while the inner-city child is told how to behave, is given rigorous test-prep--I mean college-prep--curriculum, is taught by under-prepared teachers in places where their culture is demeaned and erased and where money is not "wasted" on building improvements or technology? Let me know when this country wants to talk equal educational opportunity again.
