Obama Makes Unexpected Push for Improved Math and Science Instruction

In Monday night’s presidential debate, President Obama argued that improving math and science education would boost the American economy. In a study that was published in Education Next, Eric Hanushek and three colleagues found that the performance of students on tests in math and science has a large effect on a country’s subsequent economic growth rate.
