College Prep for All? Students Weigh In

Should all students be given a college-prep curriculum? The Summer 2014 issue of Education Next included a forum on college and career readiness, with two experts on high school reform debating how schools can both respect the diversity of students’ interests and ambitions and set a high bar for all.

Robert Schwartz of the Harvard Graduate School of Education argued that Multiple Pathways Can Better Serve Students

Cynthia Brown of the Center for American Progress argued that All Students Need Common Foundational Skills

Now the students themselves have weighed in. In the comments sections of both articles are multiple responses from students, mostly college students, sharing their own views on whether a college prep curriculum is right for all students.
