An adequacy lawsuit continues in South Dakota. It is financially supported by approximately 2/3 of the state school districts (ours is not one that is supporting it). I hadn't previously read the information you presented above. The findings are fascinating. I have a hard time supporting court intervention in our state simply because our students do so well in spite of our state's average teacher pay ranking dead last compared to every other state in country. NAEP and every other assessment ranks South Dakota student achievement in the top ten to twenty percent compared ot other states. In light of the lowest teacher pay and high student achievement, I just can't buy the arguement that education isn't adequately funded in our state.

Just one more thought from a state that's going through the motions.
