The Diverse Schools Dilemma: A Parents’ Guide to Socioeconomically Mixed Public Schools, by Mike Petrilli, looks at choices faced by parents who want to live in vibrant urban areas and send their kids to integrated public schools. (Mike has written for Ed Next about the success of one diverse school.)

The Urban School System of the Future: Applying the Principles and Lessons of Chartering, by Andy Smarick, argues that the urban school district should be replaced by a new type of organization. (Andy has written for Ed Next about replacing failing urban schools with charter schools.)
