What We’re Listening To: The Debate Over Tenure for Teachers

The Kojo Nnamdi show (WAMU) hosted a discussion of teacher tenure in light of last week’s Vergara v. California decision. A California court found teacher tenure laws unconstitutional because they protect teachers at the expense of poor and minority students.

Guests on the show are Doug Prouty of the Montgomery County Education Association, Lyndsey Layton of the Washington Post, and John Deasy, superintendent of the Los Angeles Unified School District.
