Mississippi is to Uruguay as Oregon is to Poland

An EdNext article published last month looked at the math performance of students in the 50 states, and how each state performs compared to students in other countries. The folks at K5 Learning have created a map that matches each state to a country its students’ test scores are most similar to.

As they write:

The results speak for themselves.  Florida is on par with Lithuania, California is on par with Russia, Michigan with Latvia, Mississippi with Uruguay.  The best performing State, Massachusetts, is on par with Canada.
