At this holiday season, ordinarily so joyful, all of our hearts are filled with sadness, thoughts, and prayers for the families of those 27 children and adults who lost their lives in the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School.  Many of us at Education Next have children or grandchildren, and we all feel intensely the loss of precious young lives.  The editors and staff of the journal join the entire education community in mourning.
