EdStat: Taxpayers Have Filed for Over Thirty Billion Dollars in Credits and Deductions for College Expenses They Paid in 2017

Taxpayers have filed for over thirty billion dollars in credits and deductions for college expenses they paid in 2017. The tax subsidies for education are extensive, complicated, and expensive, and evidence now  shows that they also have no effect on college attendance.
