Jay P. Greene talks with NBC Nightly News about his recent study that shows children benefit from field trips.

The study found that field trips to art museums improve critical thinking, promote historical empathy, and increase tolerance.  Benefits are particularly large for students from rural areas and from high-poverty schools.

The study, The Educational Value of Field Trips, was recently featured in Education Next.
