The Wall Street Journal has included a short excerpt from the new book Teachers Versus the Public: What Americans Think About Schools and How to Fix Them, as a Notable and Quotable item. The book is co-authored by Paul E. Peterson, Michael Henderson and Martin R. West. The WSJ item identifies policies where teachers and the public disagree about what is best for schools, and notes that public policy today is more consistent with teacher opinion than with that of the public as a whole.
