EdStat: According to the 2017 EdNext Poll, 69 Percent of Respondents Support the Idea of Schools Providing Students with Laptops for Classroom Use

The use of technology in schools continues to advance, and significant opposition to it has receded. According to our 2017 Poll, 69 percent of respondents support the idea of schools in their community providing students with laptop computers for classroom use. Approval is higher among parents, at 77 percent, and even higher among teachers, at 83 percent. Respondents show less support for the use of smartphones in classrooms, however, with just 26 percent of the public supporting students using their own smartphones in the classroom for educational purposes.
