While many teachers still use textbooks, large proportions of teachers use them as simply one resource among many. This finding is confirmed in both state- and nationally-representative surveys. National data from the American Teacher Panel, for example, found that more than 90% of teachers reported using Google to find lessons, and more than 70% reported using TeachersPayTeachers and Pinterest to find lessons. Regardless of the data source, it is clear that textbooks are widely used but are far from the only source of curriculum in typical American classrooms.
