Eight members of the Washington, D.C. City Council have asked Congress to end the D.C. Opportunity Scholarship program, the only federally funded private school voucher program.
Earlier this week, John Boehner introduced a bill to reauthorize the D.C. voucher program for an additional five years. Lyndsey Layton of the Washington Post notes that Boehner, a product of Catholic schools, has been the program’s biggest cheerleader in Congress.
