On Thursday, Nov. 5, the Fordham Institute hosted a panel discussion called Pre-Medial Education: Interventions for College-Going Students While They’re Still in High School
As noted on the event page, “when underprepared students enter postsecondary education, they face steep odds; ninety percent of individuals who start community college in remedial courses leave without any sort of credential.”
The discussion focused on how this crisis can be addressed. What can we do to ensure that kids aiming for college do not graduate from high school unprepared for college-level work? What kinds of interventions should be introduced in high school?
